We Love Our Cheese
You can't come to Wisconsin & not enjoy cheese curds. You can grab some at the Memorial Union & sit outside enjoying a beer. Another great spot to get some delicious curds are at The Edgewater's Boathouse. Sit on the dock overlooking Lake Mendota while drinking a cold beer & enjoying the beautiful views.

Best Way to Spend a Saturday Morning
Between April - November, the Dane County Farmers Market, surrounding all 4 sides of the capital is the absolute best way to enjoy a Saturday morning. Pick up your fruits, veggies, Amish baked goods, spicy cheese break, homemade soaps & honey & most importantly, cheese. All from independent farmers & business owners, this is a great way to support the local economy while enjoying the beautiful Madison summer weather.

Badger Sports
The fan-favorite Badgers are an enjoyable way to spend time in the community. These aren't small events, people travel from afar to enjoy our Badgers do what they do best - WIN! So buy a ticket & head over to the Kohl Center for some basketball or Camp Randall for some Badger football - don't forget to stay until the end, the 5th quarter is absolutely the best with the world class UW Marching Band giving all fans a great show!

Park It
Madison & all of the surrounding areas are known for the beautiful scenery & abundant parks, lakes, rivers, hiking trails & outdoor activities. Whether you're looking for a leisurely stroll or an intense hike, the Ice Age Trail is not to be missed! Don't forget your furry friends, there are many dog parks in the area as well!

Madison and the surround areas have some incredible local breweries, so whether you're in the mood to take a tour, sip some beer or get together with a group of friends, you can't go wrong hitting any of these local spots: Ale Asylum, New Glarus Brewing Company (maker of the famous Spotted Cow), Capital Brewery, Karben4 & Wisconsin Brewing Company.

Spending time at the UW Memorial Union Terrace is a wonderful way to spend the day or night. Looking out over Lake Mendota while listening to live music, sitting in the iconic union chairs & enjoying true Wisconsin fare, craft beer & cheese curds!

Have any time to relax? Enjoy golfing at some of the beautiful courses around town. Some favorites include Pleasant View Golf Course, Tumbledown Trails, The Oaks Golf Course & The Meadows of Six Mile Creek. Not to mention Vitense mini-golf!

We're On A Boat
Downtown Madison is an isthmus sitting between Lake Menona & Lake Mendota. Also in the area are Lake Kegonsa & Lake Waubesa. Grab your friends and family and rent a pontoon, kayak, canoe & head out onto the lake to enjoy some sun & relaxation. There are numerous spots throughout the area to rent, buy, dock &/or store a boat, making the lakes one of the most popular spots in Madison during the summer.

Best Street in Madison
State Street is a favorite of most & an ideal place to spend the day walking around, going to the Overture Center (theater) to catch a show, the Children's Museum, shopping, restaurants, tailgating before games or people watching. This street will take you from the middle of campus to the Capital (where you can take a free tour)!
